Face to Face Exhibition at the Museum in Tarnowskie Góry 2 June – 13 September 2026

Beata Kiszel, Director of the Museum in Tarnowskie Góry, and Iwona Golor-Baszun cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition Face to Face. The Portrait Studio of Iwona Golor-Baszun. The opening will take place on Friday, 19 June 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Museum in Tarnowskie Góry (Rynek 1). The event will be accompanied by a mini concert performed by Pan Ba (Aleksander Golor-Baszun).

For the past ten years, Iwona Golor-Baszun has been developing her artistic practice through her Portrait Studio. This retrospective exhibition invites visitors to accompany the artist on her painterly journey—a journey through themes, techniques, projects, artistic experiences, and creative exploration. Wherever her intuition and her uncompromising, independent approach to art have led her, one constant remains: her exceptional mastery of painting and her distinctive way of seeing the human face. The portraits presented here often surprise, even unsettle, as they can be far removed from the polished and carefully controlled images to which we have grown accustomed. Rather than pursuing superficial beauty, the artist seeks to reach the person behind the appearance—to reveal their individuality, personality, and uniqueness. Is such a goal possible in painting?
