The End of the World is a series painted for order of Jurek Owsiak, depicting people in the approaching moment of definite disappearance, transition, the end of civilization, culture, man. The beginning of a new spiritual stage or eternal nothingness. How can we prepare for such a moment? Should we be afraid of it or treat it with agrainof saltas a strange holiday or a new year? Maybe the End of the World will never come and it will always be just an expectation, after which everyone will return to normality. Does it matter how we greet this moment or is it a helpless attempt to catch the remnants of what is about to disappear? In this project I am not very interested in the End of the World itself but in the people’s reactions to it.
